Spotlight

A full-bleed backdrop carousel showing content to watch next. The spotlight ranks items from your library based on viewing activity, release dates, and engagement, so the most relevant items appear first.

Spotlight Categories

Each spotlight item is tagged with a colored badge explaining why it's featured:

Badge Color Criteria
Continue Orange Movies or episodes you started but didn't finish
New Episode Purple A new episode from a show you're watching, aired within the last week
New Season Cyan A new season of a show you've watched before, premiered within the last two weeks
New Series Teal A brand new show added to your library
New Release Blue A movie that just became available for home viewing
Recently Added Green Fallback. Latest additions when nothing else qualifies.

How Items Are Ranked

New episodes and seasons of shows you actively watch rank highest, followed by new releases, then items you're partway through, then recent additions. Within each category, newer beats older, and shows you watched more recently beat ones you haven't touched in a while.

A few refinements keep the queue sensible:

Navigation arrows appear on the left and right edges when the spotlight zone is focused.

Prefer to skip the gallery? Turn on Direct Navigation in Settings > Home > Spotlight and selecting a spotlight item goes straight to its detail page.

What Each Item Shows

Per-Tab Queues

Each content tab builds its own spotlight:

Tab What's Included
Home All categories: movies, episodes, series, continue watching
Movies Movies only
Shows Episodes, seasons, and series only
Music Music videos only

Settings

Settings > Home > Spotlight controls:

Setting Description
Spotlight Limit How many items the carousel holds (4 to 12, default 8)
Direct Navigation Skip the gallery and open items directly

Spotlight visibility is shared across the content tabs. Hiding Hero Spotlight in Home customization also hides it on Music; Music's own editor can hide it from Music alone.
