Audio tracks can be embedded in Trident's supported video containers. Standalone Ogg (.ogg) and WAV (.wav) files are supported as well.
Trident matches its output to whatever your audio system supports.

When the source has more channels than your output, Trident downmixes. The downmix preserves dialog level and front-rear balance.
E-AC3 Atmos (Dolby Digital Plus with Atmos) can be passed through directly to compatible receivers. Make sure EAC3-Atmos Passthrough in Settings > Playback > Audio is enabled.

TrueHD Atmos contains lossless 7.1 audio plus spatial object metadata. Trident decodes the lossless 7.1 - this is a platform limitation of the Apple TV.

You can switch audio tracks during playback from the Playback Menu. The change happens in place without restarting the video stream.
