Devices

One Neptune, to rule them all

Whatever device you pick up, you get the same home screen, the same search, the same Discover, the same Conductor picking your tracks, and the same Trident engine playing your files. Sign in with the same account and your profile is your profile.

With the Neptune MDM plugin installed, preferences sync live: change your theme on your iPhone and the Apple TV follows in real time. Without it, each device keeps its own local settings.

Shaped to the Screen

The interface adapts to how you actually hold and use each device:

Device How it feels
Apple TV Focus-driven, built for the Siri Remote: the Compass, spotlight carousel, and long-press menus
iPhone Portrait-first with touch controls throughout, native Pins, configurable widgets, an optional Compass Live Activity, and Picture in Picture or background audio when you leave Neptune
iPad The same touch experience with room to breathe, including native Pins, Home Screen widgets, Lock Screen widgets on iPadOS 17 or later, Picture in Picture, and background audio; the iPhone Compass and Live Activity stay off
Mac TBD

The documentation describes shared behavior with the TV controls as the reference. Where you read "press Select" or "long-press", the touch equivalent is a tap or a touch-and-hold.

iOS System Surfaces

Neptune keeps three shortcut systems deliberately separate:

Picture in Picture and Background Playback are separate,
independent iPhone and iPad playback settings. One keeps video in a floating
system window; the other keeps audio playing through app switching and screen
lock.

See iPhone & iPad for the complete guide.

Platform Status

Apple TV is on the App Store. iPhone and iPad are in open beta through TestFlight (see Installation). If something you rely on hasn't made it to your device yet, the fastest way to flag it is through the Neptune Discord.
